Greece has issued nearly ten thousand residence and work permits to Ukrainian refugees, according to the electronic edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.
The total number of refugees from Ukraine who have currently arrived in Greece is more than 25,000.
The tourism sector wants to attract a large number of Ukrainian citizens who have received a work permit.
Two large travel companies have already expressed readiness to hire about 500 Ukrainians, some of whom will work on the islands of Kos, Rhodes and Crete.
The sector suffers from a shortage of staff. Last month, the honorary president of the Confederation of Greek Tourism (CETE), Andreas Andreas, said the number of vacancies in the tourism sector had exceeded 50,000.
