Turkish mass media reported on the case of Russian tourists who got into an emergency situation. It is a Pegasus Airlines Izmir-Moscow flight that landed in Helsinki due to bad weather conditions in Central Russia.
The details are as follows: the plane took off from Izmir at 21:00 in the evening on December 18, but could not land in Moscow due to bad weather conditions – an unprecedented snowfall was raging over the Russian capital that day, so the plane was diverted to Helsinki airport. Where the Finns kept the passengers in the cabin of the plane for 10 hours – actually locking them in the liner, like in a prison.
As tourists complained, they were refused food and water at the airport. In addition, it was very stuffy in the cabin, but passengers were not allowed to go out even to the “clean zone”. And so for 10 hours.
The finale was a completely expected order from the Finnish authorities – the plane that came under their control was forbidden to fly directly to Moscow. As a result, tourists had to return to Istanbul first. And they ended up in Moscow only on Monday evening.
