Rules of entry into the Dominican Republic from April 1

Before the entry into force of the rules (until March 31), tourists can arrive with a written questionnaire, which was valid before.

You do not need to have a certificate of absence of coronavirus. At the airport, some tourists can selectively test for the presence of COVID-19 using rapid tests.

The new system combines the information previously contained in three documents: migration card, health questionnaire, customs declaration.

  • To enter the Dominican Republic, you must complete an electronic application form.
  • After completing the questionnaire, the tourist receives a QR-code, which will need to be presented at the airport.
  • Before leaving the Dominican Republic, you must also fill out a form and get the code again.
  • The QR code can be displayed on the smartphone screen or printed out. If a family goes on vacation, one questionnaire is filled out for everyone and one code is issued.
  • This code is required to pass the control in the Dominican Republic. If for some reason the questionnaire is not filled out, the tourist can enter his data directly at the airport. But it is recommended to fill in the questionnaire 3-4 days before the trip to change the data if necessary.

Travel insurance in the Dominican Republic

To travel to the Dominican Republic, you must take out insurance with coronavirus coverage. Now almost all insurances cover the risk of COVID-19. But many of them have limitations in terms of insurance, due to which, this option will not be useful.

For this direction, you should choose good insurance, because the tourist must be sure that he will receive medical care in an emergency.

For insurance in the Dominican Republic, we recommend the following risks:

  • Coronavirus;
  • Sunburn;
  • Allergies;
  • Accident;
  • Cancellation of the trip.
