A new global study by AllClear Travel Insurance has identified the top 25 places on the planet to watch a sunset, combining weather data with social media popularity. The winner: Cappadocia, Türkiye, a destination famous for its volcanic landscapes and hot-air balloons.
Researchers analysed over 100 locations, scoring each one based on cloud cover, humidity, wind speed, rainfall and the number of sunset-related hashtags used online. Final scores were ranked on a 100-point scale.
Cappadocia takes the crown
With a score of 86.1, Cappadocia tops the global list.
Its fairy-chimney rock formations, pink volcanic glow and more than 200 flyable days a year create some of the world’s most dramatic sunset views.
