Thailand tightens penalties for driving without a driver’s license

According to The Phuket News, the Thai authorities are tightening the penalties for driving without a driver’s license.

We are talking about a Thai license or an international driving license (IDP) in addition to foreign rights.

So, from January 9 in Thailand, a new point system of fines for non-compliance with traffic rules comes into force and at the same time the punishment for driving without a license is toughened. This is now punishable by up to 3 months in jail and/or up to 10,000 baht in fines under Section 156 of the Road Traffic Act.
