Thailand allows tourists to undergo quarantine on yachts

INTERFAX, referring to the Nikkei Asia report, reports that the Thai authorities have allowed foreign tourists arriving to undergo a 14-day quarantine on yachts.

This program of self-isolation on yachts has already started working in Phuket. Travelers with a negative PCR test will be able to spend the quarantine period on board the ship. Upon arrival, they are handed a smart (Smart-band) bracelet that monitors up-to-date vital information about the tourist’s condition – body temperature and blood pressure, as well as location via GPS.

The publication emphasizes that before that in January, foreign tourists were given the opportunity to isolate themselves in golf clubs.

From April, Thailand will reduce the mandatory quarantine period for vaccinated foreign travelers from 14 to 7 days.
