Teenager removed from flight for an unsuccessful prank on passengers

In the Netherlands, on August 13, an 18-year-old boy was removed from a flight after he sent passengers a photo of the plane crash just before takeoff. This is the second case in the country in a week when a flight is delayed due to the distribution of such photos to passengers.

In the second case, the photos even came to the pilot’s phone. It is reported that the service for Apple devices AirDrop was used for mailing. The plane did not take off until the sender of the crash photo confessed to the deed.

Transavia has blacklisted the man who scared the passengers. A similar incident happened on August 10, also in the Netherlands. Both men are suspected of making security threats. The police and prosecutors are investigating.

The AirDrop app itself was created for file sharing. Any files can be transferred. The defense would be to simply refuse to accept the files. The application can be configured to accept files only from your contacts, and then not a single extraneous file will come to your phone. In addition, you can simply turn off the application and not use it at such crucial moments as flying on an airplane.
