In Egypt, the Tax-Free system began to work. So far, the VAT refund service for purchases for non-residents is only available at Sharm El Sheikh Airport.
To get a refund of the value of goods under the Tax-Free system, the purchase price must be at least 1,500 Egyptian pounds (about $60). You must present the receipt and the product itself in unopened form.
Foreigners wishing to use the VAT refund service must stay in Egypt for less than three months. The refund is provided to a bank card.
