Last night, new earthquakes occurred in Turkey and Syria, their magnitude was 5.1 – 5.4.
So, in the southeast of Turkey in the province of Hatay, an earthquake with a power of 5.1 points was recorded.
According to the Turkish Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the seismic event was located at a depth of 9.26 km in the Mediterranean Sea, at a distance of 6 km from the Turkish coast. Information about the victims and the wounded is being specified, it is known that several buildings that suffered from earlier earthquakes collapsed.
In turn, the Syrian agency SANA reports that last night an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 was registered in the northwest of the province of Idlib, and tremors of magnitude 3.4 occurred northwest of Latakia.
According to AFAD, the number of victims of a powerful earthquake in Turkey on February 6 reached 38,044 people, and more than 100,000 people were injured. In Turkey, 2.2 million people were evacuated from areas affected by the earthquake.
Also, Al Jazeera reports that in Syria the death toll has reached 5,800 people. Thus, the number of earthquake victims in both countries exceeded 43,800.
