With quality ski slopes and a wide range of activities, including snowboarding and sledding, Turkey remains one of the leading international winter holiday destinations.
One of the most popular ski resorts in Turkey, Uludag has located about 40 km from the city of Bursa in the northwest of the country. For decades, the area has been a popular winter tourism destination in Anatolia.
Preparations for the new ski season have been completed here as well. The capacity of hotels in Uludag is about 5,000.
For those who wish, 20 ski slopes are available with a length of 300 to 1980 meters.
Last season, Uludag was visited by about 2 million local and foreign guests.
Well-developed infrastructure, excellent trails, and a wide range of services attract thousands of holiday lovers to the largest resort.
You can get to the area where the hotels are located on the territory of the resort by cable car with a length of 9 km.
In 1961, the hotel area on the territory of Uludag has declared a National Park.
Along with skiing, tourists can go snowboarding, ice skating, and snowmobiling here.
The snowy landscapes of Uludag attract the attention of filmmakers. Uludag is located at the highest point of the Sea of Marmara region – at an altitude of 2543 meters.
The owner of one of the local hotels, Haluk Bejeren, told the Anadolu Agency that last season was successful for hoteliers.
“The number of visitors and hotel guests is growing. We expect the new season to be better. Bursa has all the conditions for the convenience of tourists,” he said.
The Palandokön ski resort in Erzurum is also preparing to receive many tourists after December 15th.
Palandokön Resort was built through the mediation of the Municipality and the Office of the Governor of Erzurum Province. There are 55 ski slopes from beginner to the professional level of difficulty.
Two slopes are certified by the International Ski Federation for slalom competitions. The resort can serve up to 12 thousand people at the same time.
Palandokön has the longest track in Turkey at 15 km, which at the same time is the third longest in the world.
The steepest descent is the Ejder track, with a slope of 54 percent, which gives fans of extreme sports an unforgettable experience.
In addition to skiing, tourists can try skydiving, mountain climbing, snow tubing, snow rafting, ice climbing, and other sports.
Parachute jumps are made from a height of 3200 meters, from where tourists can enjoy a magnificent view of the beauty of the region. Experienced climbers can try ice climbing in the new ice park.
Lighting is installed on the slopes, which allows tourists to ride around the clock and enjoy the view of the city.
Many tourists from Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and European countries come here every year.
The resort “Palandoken” has 20 hotels with a capacity of 4 thousand people. Over 1.8 million winter sports enthusiasts visited the resort last year.
