Singapore will be one of the easiest countries to visit as, from the second half of the year, travelers will be able to enter the country using automated lanes that streamline screening procedures for all visitors, regardless of nationality.
As reported by VisaGuide.World, Singapore will become the first country to allow its visitors to enter without the need to pre-register or present a passport before leaving. The entire registration process will be completed using an authentication token, which makes carrying physical documents such as passports and airline tickets less of a hassle.
Changes in immigration laws and efforts to increase digitalization and strengthen border controls are the main reasons behind the new measures, which make Changi Airport the world’s first passport-free hub.
More than 160 automated lanes were installed in 2023, with another 230 lanes to be installed in 2024. Currently, the automated lanes can only be used by residents of Singapore and citizens of 60 countries.
