Mahmutlar, a satellite town of Alanya, has been recognized as a resort area in Turkey recently characterized by the highest density of Russians who came here. The Turkish newspaper “Turkiyeturizm” reported on the education of real “Rashtowns”.
It is no secret that for many years the main Turkish resort province of Antalya acted as the winter capital for the citizens of the aggressor country, where 1 million tourists rest annually and 43,000 foreigners from 54 countries of the world live there. But a huge stream of Russians rushed to Turkey in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This led to the formation of “rushatowns” – Chinatowns, reminiscent of densely populated areas of overseas Chinese.
One of them, the largest, was formed in a small town on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, near the popular resort town of Alanya (Antalya province). In connection with the influx of Russians, the municipality of Alanya opened an office for employment and other solutions to the problems of the Russians who “came in”. The first visitor and at the same time an employee became a high-ranking official – the mayor of Alanya, Adam Murat Yucel. A similar office was opened in Mahmutlar itself. According to the official, this is a serious help to solve the accumulated issues due to the sharply increased population density.
“In our district of Mahmutlar, there is rapid population growth. After the heavy workload that has arisen here recently, we decided to open such an office. In this way, we will quickly satisfy the requests of visitors. This office will also function as an employment service. Welcome to us! Our friendly and experienced employees will welcome the residents of Mahmutlar,” said the mayor’s statement in the local media. According to him, this is a serious help in solving the accumulated issues.
