Research: people who are most and least at risk in travel

Coventry Direct life insurance experts recently conducted a nationwide survey to find out who is most and least tolerant of risks. They asked respondents to assess their risk tolerance and answer a series of questions about how likely they are to make a risky choice.

81% of respondents are likely to start an independent adventure.

Here are some important statistics:

  • Surprisingly, baby boomers were the most likely generation to travel on their own (89.47%). Millennials were the least likely – only 81% – to go on an independent adventure.
  • More than half of the respondents are at least somewhat likely to go on a trip with someone they have just met.
  • Men more often went on a trip with a stranger than women (from 50.6% to 36.2%).
