Over 200 flights were canceled in Japan due to the typhoon

More than 200 flights have been canceled or delayed at Japanese airports due to Typhoon Meari.

A typhoon hit the Japanese coast near the Izu Peninsula, it is already raging over Tokyo.

Flights have been canceled and delayed at airports in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo, Okinawa, and other major cities.

The authorities issued a recommendation for citizens to evacuate to a safe place. So, in Shizuoka Prefecture, it affects more than 83,000 people, and in Kanagawa Prefecture adjacent to Tokyo, more than 50,000 people.

It is expected that shortly the typhoon will move to the northeast at a speed of 20-30 km/h. And on August 15, it can reach the northern part of the Kuril ridge.
