New rules for travel by ferry to the Greek islands

Today, new rules for travel by ferry to the Greek islands come into force to prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to “Kathimerini”.

Passengers must provide one of the following documents:

  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate;
  • evidence of recent recovery from illness;
  • negative PCR result 72 hours before the trip or negative rapid test 42 hours before the trip.

These rules apply to all passengers aged 12 and over. Persons aged 12 to 17 have the right to travel by ferry and have a negative self-test result in the last 24 hours.

Kathimerini writes that passengers aged 12 and over are also encouraged to take their own tests before returning to the continent.
