According to the IsraelInfo portal, a new airline, Air Haifa, has been created in Israel. It will operate as a low-cost airline based in Haifa. All flights will operate from Haifa Airport.
The company plans to lease the aircraft along with the crews. When the first flights of Air Haifa will begin and where precisely the carrier plans to fly is still unknown.
The publication clarifies that the Haifa airport has a short runway (1316 m) since on the one hand it is limited by the new seaport, and on the other – by the industrial zone. This narrows the possibility of receiving specific types of aircraft and the radius of flights.
Currently, planes from Haifa fly to Israeli airports, Cyprus and Malta. It is planned to launch flights to Romania soon.
