Named 30 countries where tourists are treated the worst

Thirty countries that so impressed the imagination of tourists that they are not going to return there ever again were presented in the Data Is Beautiful community on the Reddit social network. Interestingly, the list includes the two most popular countries for Ukrainian tourists – Egypt and Turkey. The main complaints are unfriendly attitudes towards “strangers”, sexual harassment, unsanitary conditions, and other nuisances. At the same time, the list includes both dangerous countries, such as Syria and Afghanistan, as well as “samples” of prosperous states – such as Japan, the United States, and the UAE.

We will give most of the list of countries and claims of tourists:

Japan: “Japan is a modern, beautiful country with wonderful people, but I just wasn’t lucky enough to get to know them too closely,” writes one of the affected tourists. “Haijins” may run into teenagers who are hooligans and throw things around, but adults, under the mask of traditional Japanese politeness, also hide a dislike for foreigners – confident tourists. Fat people are also often mocked in Japan, they complain.

Egypt: the country has a very high risk of being sexually harassed, not only in the non-touristy areas of Cairo but even on the Cheops Pyramid tour, where you have to hunch over and duck through a narrow, dark tunnel, with people in front of you and people from behind and you can’t go back or go back,” laments one of the tourists. People are also annoyed by unsanitary conditions and beggars.

Saudi Arabia: the country is expected to be extremely intolerant – “they can cling to you in an extremely unkind way, finding out why you are not a Muslim,” tourists are assured.

The Gambia in West Africa: “The most corrupt country in the world!” – one of the tourists is indignant. However, this “title” will still be encountered.

UAE: “Relentless robbery of Western culture. Why did I fly 12 hours from New York to be surrounded by a cheesecake factory, Wendy’s, California pizzeria, etc.? You won’t see anything real there,” the tourist is indignant.

Turkey: again the main complaint is sexual harassment. “Despicable men are chasing you everywhere,” writes one of the outraged tourists.

Afghanistan: “I hardly need to clarify”, – as the tourist writes.

Qatar: Here you can only watch how rich, uneducated Arab sheiks beat their Nepali slaves, and it’s a terrible tourists comment.

China: According to tourists, they were mostly outraged by the “feeling of being watched”, dirt, and disgusting air, as well as the absolute unsuitability of cities for pedestrians.

Cambodia: tourists also recognized the country as “corrupt to the brim.” In addition, they were outraged by their “colleagues” – rich European retirees who come for “depraved and cheap” sex with girls “who are not 18.”

South Africa: “Some random truck drove up to our hotel and got into a shootout for no apparent reason. I went out after the shooting and saw about 7 people killed or at least wounded, including our guide,” one tourist briefly draws.

India: “Garbage is lying everywhere, cows roam the streets and poop everywhere, people are greedy and unpleasant, the poor are raging and just sad,” tourists say.

Syria: tourists describe the terrible state of infrastructure and poverty, as “not surprising after the war”.

Venezuela: “To everyone who is thinking about visiting the country without having family/friends/contacts there, just don’t think – it’s not worth it,” tourists write.

Brazil: “After a month of warnings that we could be robbed on the bus, on the street, killed on the beach, etc., I ended up being held hostage by two fugitive criminals. I think that enough has been said,” writes the tourist.

Moldova: “On the bus, I was attacked by some smelly gopniks. Besides, it’s the most depressing situation I’ve ever seen,” one of the tourists complains.

Israel: interestingly, tourists complain not so much about safety as about the fact that it is a “very racist country”.

France: “The attitude towards foreigners in France has absolutely no golden mean: they are either incredibly nice or terrible,” tourists write.

Morocco: “Everyone here is only interested in your wallet,” one of the authors assures.

Thailand: “For me, there is a lot of prostitution and child pornography/outdoor prostitution.”

USA: “Worst place ever. The average American knows nothing outside the US. They think they are the center of the world and they don’t need to know anything about other countries. New York is very polluted with beggars everywhere. I saw two people fighting with knives at one in the morning,” tourists write.

Jamaica: “Everyone thinks you owe them a tip for something. If you don’t want the locals to just siphon off money and worry about being robbed, don’t go there,” tourists complain.

Madagascar, Chad, Laos, Pakistan, and other countries are also on the list.
