Approximately one thousand walking enthusiasts will come to a unique event in Croatia – the Walking Festival. This event has been held for the fourth year in a row.
Estimated date of carrying out – 3 and 4 September. All age groups can register for the event, regardless of fitness level. The only requirement for “walkers” is goodwill and a desire to meet new people, and experience a unique experience in beautiful Lika.
Ivan Radoshevich, director of the Lika-Sen district tourism department, says the festival plans to break attendance records this year.
“This year we have become part of the IML Walking Association family, which will attract many walkers from all over Europe, and next year from all over the world. With this event, we are trying to extend the tourist period after the end of the season, as these guests tend to stay for a few days after the event to explore the surroundings,” explains Ivan Radoshevich, director of the Lika-Sen District Tourism Office.
The Croatian Walking Festival starts in Otočac along the already popular Gacka trails and continues in Gospić, where Tesla trails are already marked. The distances of the routes are different – 10, 20, and 30 kilometers. Six routes differ in difficulty, but on each of them, you can find equally beautiful natural and cultural sights of Lika.
