The Istanbul City Card will be a tourist replacement for the universal Istanbulkart, according to the Istanbul Municipality (IBB). It came into effect on September 1st.
This pass, presented in various versions, will facilitate the movement of tourists around Istanbul. The maps will be supplied with a “guidebook” and the city’s popular routes.
For example, one of the options for the Istanbul City Card is an unlimited travel card for up to 15 days with access to hop-on hop-off sightseeing buses.
Soon, additional features will be linked to the Istanbul City Cards, such as access to museums run by the municipality, the ability to use ferry lines and sightseeing boats plying the Bosphorus.
Istanbul City Cards can be purchased from electronic vending machines at more than 30 tourist locations.
