India intends to develop religious tourism

The birthplaces of Krishna, Mathura, and Vrindavan will be connected by cruise traffic, for which waterways on the Yamuna will be developed.

The sister cities of Mathura and Vrindavan are known as the birthplaces of Krishna and attract a large number of pilgrims and tourists every year. People who want to take a short spiritual journey go here, as the cities are close to each other and most of the sights can be seen in just a day.

India’s Minister of Shipping Sarbananda Sonoval recently announced that Mathura and Vrindavan will be connected by cruise traffic, for which waterways on the Yamuna will be developed. This step is connected with the promotion of religious tourism in the region.

With this new development, these destinations are expected to attract more tourists shortly.
