Türkiye is becoming even more expensive for tourists. The country’s authorities have again decided to raise prices for tickets to museums and historical attractions — for the third time in a year.
Antalya City Council Tourism Group President and NBK Toursitk CEO Recep Yavuz said ticket prices for foreign visitors have set a new record.
From April 1, 2023, they increased by 1.5–2 times. For example, now a tourist must pay about 40 euros to visit Ephesus, although previously the entrance ticket would have cost him 20 euros. During the same period, a ticket to the ruins of Pamukkale increased from 20 euros to 30 euros, and an entrance to the Galata Tower from 17 to 30 euros.
To visit the ruins of Troy, tourists will now have to pay 27 euros instead of 10 euros. Tickets to Topkapi Palace, Harem, and Agia Irini will cost the traveler 45 euros with a surcharge. A visit to the Goreme ruins has increased in price from 15 to 20 euros.
It is worth noting that all prices are now in euros, and they may change depending on the exchange rate of the lira. It will be possible to travel cheaply only with tourist groups, for which there is a 20 percent discount on entry. The new museum fees are effective from March 1, 2024.
