In Turkey, they complain that tourists have disappeared somewhere

Things don’t go as expected in Turkey again in July. Although airports are accepting almost the same number of foreigners, hotel occupancy is lower than it should be in high season. “Tourists have disappeared somewhere,” complains in Turkey, separately drawing attention to the fact that Turkey, as before, remains the cheapest destination.

Experts admit that prices in Turkey were increased by an average of 30% – and it seems that all price categories of tourists reacted to this. “Although the situation varies by region, type, and class of objects, problems are everywhere, albeit in different forms,” – write in the Turkish tourism media.

“Occupancy has decreased in regions such as Bodrum, where most of the properties attractive to the upper class are located. But even in Marmaris, which is the cheapest compared to competing destinations in the country, hotel occupancy does not meet the expected level,” Turkish experts emphasize.

Antalya, which is popular with our tourists, is also suffering – although about 100,000 foreigners still arrive at the airports, the hotel occupancy rate is lower than it should be in the high season.

At the same time, the Turks emphasize that Turkey remains a cheap destination, despite the rise in prices. As confirmation, they cited a report by the British Post Office and TUI, which compared prices on 16 popular destinations and found that Turkey is the cheapest.

“Turkey is becoming cheaper due to high inflation and an unstable economy in the country,” the British assure. Portugal and Bulgaria were also included in the list of the cheapest popular countries.
