These figures were announced at the FVW Travel Talk Congress held in Valencia, Spain, where 300 industry experts, especially from the German travel industry, participated.
“Turkey has taken a new path – instead of competing with low prices, it is coming to the fore in European markets with its guarantee of quality and service,” said Huseyn Baraner, Secretary General of the World Twin Cities Tourism Association. They also predict that Turkey has begun to reap the benefits of this work and expected success in 2024.
At the same time, he did not emphasize beach tourism. “Thanks to the increase in sales of cultural tours in Anatolia and the new momentum in the field of health tourism, the goal of 100 million tourists and 120 billion dollars in tourism revenue will be achieved no later than 2030,” the expert assured. And then he added that the average spending per tourist increased from 800 to 1200 dollars in the last 5 years.
“Turkey will no longer advance in Europe based on cheap prices, it intends to offer quality services, challenges its competitors with a high level of service, and also reaches and maintains an unexpected volume of customers in this regard,” added Baraner.
Moreover, according to his forecasts, the first result of the new tourism policy is a “significant increase in sales” that Turkey should experience in the 2024 season.
