The weather favors the Turkish ski resorts, which were left without tourists last season due to the lack of a sufficient amount of snow. According to the Turkish press, snowfall fell on the Uludag resort – and optimistic Turks announced the opening date of the next tourist season – it is the ski season.
“The hotels and ski slopes in Uludag turned out to be covered with snow, and this attracted -2 degrees of frost, and the lowest – 12 degrees. But the main thing is that the thickness of the snow on the tracks exceeded 5 centimeters.
“The snowfall brought us joy and hope,” said Yahya Usta, president of the Turkish Ski and Snowboard Coaches Association. According to him, this year the first snowfalls started as expected. Meanwhile, the resort has completed preparations for the season and is preparing for the opening.
“We plan to open the season around December 10. If the snow goes as expected, the season could open next week. Despite the negative seasons in the past few years, we are hoping for a normal season this year. We expect centimeters of snow, but even 30-40 centimeters will be enough for us,” the ski expert explained.
