A small “revolution” in nutrition took place in the popular resorts of Bodrum in the southwest of Turkey. Now tourists on local beaches began to be fed frozen fruit intended for monkeys and pandas at a price of up to $50 per serving. The Turkish publication Turkiye Turizm reported on the new attraction.
The fact is that on the Aegean Sea, there is unbearable heat, which becomes a real problem for a comfortable pastime. Local owners of luxury beach complexes and hotels have decided to introduce a new menu to keep vacationers cool. These are frozen fruits intended for pandas and monkeys in the zoo. With the help of frozen products, they are saved from the heat.
The idea of offering the same frozen fruits to people to cool off on the beaches of Bodrum turned out to be not only original but also in demand. This novelty was liked not only by animals but also by vacationers themselves. Soon, the serving format began to spread throughout the resort town. Resort tourists are willing to pay $15 to $40 per serving to enjoy the cool treat.
Let’s add that frozen fruits are popular in many hot countries — Thailand, Brazil, Caribbean islands (Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, etc.), Mexico, Greece, etc. Locals prepare them for themselves and tourists.
