The tragic incident with a shark did not happen this time in Egypt – a tourist died in a shark attack during New Year’s celebrations in Hawaii. According to Nation World News, 39-year-old surfer Jason Carter was attacked by a shark near Paia Bay beach.
The Maui Police Department said the incident happened around 11 a.m. on Dec. 31, 2023, when Carter entered the water to go surfing. About 20 minutes later, he was attacked by a shark.
Tourist Jason Carter was rescued by a jet ski of the rescue team, which performed intensive maneuvers to save his life. He was later transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center where he tragically died due to the severity of his injuries from the attack. But, despite the efforts of medics, the tourist died.
After the tragic incident, the authorities closed the beach to the public and launched an investigation to find out the details of what happened. Also, to prevent future incidents and protect swimmers, shark warning signs have been installed on the beaches near the affected bay.
