Two tourists went missing and five more were found with injuries of varying degrees of severity in Phetchaburi province in southern Thailand. The cause of the accident was a water tornado that sucked a boat with travelers last Saturday afternoon.
The incident happened on August 12 at 5:00 p.m. in Bang Ta Bun Bay, near Ban Laem district, The Thaiger reported. The boat, on board of which there were seven tourists, was caught in a water tornado and then capsized. As a result, the ship went to the bottom, so the passengers ended up in the water. The rescue unit of the Savang Sanphet Thammasathan Foundation came forward to help the drowning.
Thanks to the quick actions of the rescuers, it was possible to pull out five exhausted tourists from the water. However, the fate of the other two remains unknown. It was assumed that the men were missing. One of them was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and the other was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans. Their nationality is unknown.
The moment of the accident was accidentally caught on the phone camera of one of the visitors to the coastal eatery. While watching what was happening, he accidentally filmed a water tornado engulfing a boat with people. A large-scale search operation is currently underway to locate the two missing travelers.
We will remind you, earlier the life of a Russian tourist was tragically interrupted at another Thai resort. The man went to swim in the sea, but could not cope with the elements. His body was found near Cape Promthep on the island of Phuket. Thai police have contacted the Russian embassy to investigate.
