The end of 2022 has been the hottest year on record for Spain since 1961, according to the Associated Press.
According to the National Meteorological Service of the country, for the first time, the average annual air temperature was above +15°С. In addition, 2022 could turn out to be one of the driest, with only 2005 and 2017 seeing less rainfall in Spain.
The publication recalls that all of Europe has experienced a very dry and hot year with large forest fires that destroyed crops in the fields, and with restrictions on water consumption.
