The sale of tours abroad has been stopped in most mass destinations. Moreover, they will not be restored until the situation with flights is more or less resolved. At the moment, tour operators are launching only “export” flights, and more than 90% of tourists have already been taken back to Russia. Such information was voiced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova.
“As for trips abroad, to date all tour operators have temporarily suspended the sale of tours from most mass destinations until the situation with flights normalizes,” she said. At the same time, according to her, “restart” of flight programs and in general all decisions in this regard “will be made after we return all our tourists home.” Ms. Doguzova urged tourists to “take a responsible approach to planning trips abroad” and to take into account “constantly changing circumstances and all possible difficulties.” (ed. but for some reason she did not explain for what reasons, these “difficulties” the Russians have)
The agency also reported that airlines and tour operators have already returned home more than 90% of organized tourists or about 85 thousand people. It remains to take out about 5 thousand tourists. At the same time, most of them – or about 4 thousand people – are stuck in Egypt. By the way, read about the stay of Russians in Egypt in our article “Russians complain that after February 24, Egypt “ruined their lives.”
According to the agency, most of them are tourists who rested “on the line of three major tour operators.” “The return process has become more complicated and takes more time than tour operators expected due to the new Western sanctions on aircraft that were planned to operate export flights,” Rostourism said.
