The Phuket Express newspaper reported on the tragic incident with a foreign tourist in Phuket. A local “long-term” tourist who has been living there for probably not the first year died from a bee sting.
According to the newspaper, emergency services were called to a house on Soi Kitprasan in the Rawai district. Arriving at the scene, they found a 68-year-old British citizen in bed inside the house. He was unconscious, there was no pulse.
Emergency services performed CPR while the tourist was rushed to the nearest hospital, but it did not help. Upon arrival, medics declared the tourist dead.
As the Thai wife of the British man stated, the cause of death could be a bee sting. When her husband was riding his motorcycle home, he was stung by a bee. He arrived at his home and was given anti-allergy medication. After that, he passed out, she said. She also added that the Brit had a strong allergy to insects such as bees. However, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
