Sky News will report that Milan city hall in Italy plans to ban the sale of takeaway food after midnight, including pizza, ice cream, and drinks.
Local authorities expect the innovation to combat noise on city streets at night, as it disturbs residents’ sleep.
“The goal is to find a balance between communication and entertainment, as well as peace and tranquility for residents,” said Deputy Mayor Marco Granelli.
If the bill is passed, during the high tourist season from May to November it will be prohibited to sell food and drinks for outdoor tables from 00:30 on weekdays and from 01:30 on weekends and holidays.
