The authorities of the popular island of Bali in Indonesia, tired of fighting with offending tourists from Russia, installed special billboards along the roads in Russian and English, warning Russians of possible deportation.
According to the Indonesian publication Kompas, the local branch of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights publicly threatened vacationers from Russia with consequences for illegal work, including deportation from the famous resort.
“We welcome all foreign tourists to Bali. As a traveler, you are prohibited from accepting any work in Indonesia. Any foreign citizen who shows disrespect or violates current legislation is subject to deportation and a ban on entry,” the warning message in Russian read. Special billboards have already been installed on Sunset Road in the Balinese district of Kuta.
The head of the communication department of the immigration office at Denpasar Putu Airport, Sukhendra Tresnadita, especially noted that the use of two languages on the boards – Russian and English – is because a large number of Russian vacationers are concentrated in Bali.
We will remind you that a small paradise island has turned into a “little Moscow” – a community with its own rules and services, from hairdressers to massage parlors. This is not to the liking of the residents, who are constantly faced with disrespect for culture on the part of “intruders”, as well as the desire of the latter to make money on someone else’s land without official permission. In connection with the wave of complaints, the authorities began to actively monitor the activities of tourists in Bali, launched a wave of deportations for violators and tightened the rules for those who arrive in the country.
