The Indian Air Force scrambled two fighter jets after a reported sighting of an unidentified flying object (UFO) near the airport. The incident occurred on November 19, but it became known only now, reports Independent.
Security forces sounded the alert after a UFO sighting was reported from the northeastern state of Manipur around 2:30 pm local time on Sunday.
The Indian Air Force also suspended flights at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in the state capital Imphal for several hours.

A spokesman for one of India’s federal police agencies said the object “was visible to the naked eye.”
“The Air Force activated its air defense response mechanism based on visual signals from the Imphal airport. After this, the small object disappeared,” the department said in a statement.
Indian authorities have not released specific details of the investigation into the UFO sighting.
