A man in Greece has survived after spending 18 hours at sea, writes LADBible.
All this time he held on to the ball. A tourist named Ivan was swept out to sea by a strong current off the coast of Greece. Friends of the man raised the alarm and called rescuers, but he had already disappeared. Being in the water, the tourist noticed that a small ball swam up to him, which he grabbed.
For 18 hours, Ivan remained afloat, holding on to the ball, until he was found by rescuers who surveyed the area by plane. Later it turned out that the ball belonged to two little brothers, and the toy was swept away by the tide on June 30th. Coincidentally, the mother of the boys who lost the ball saw it on local television while reporting on Ivan’s rescue. The tourist himself has not yet commented, but the mayor of the city where Ivan was resting thanked everyone who assisted.
“Thank you to the port, doctors, air force, Greek police, fishermen, lifeguards, and volunteers,” she commented.
