The preliminary forecast for the tourist flow that will arrive in Egypt for the winter is “promising”, but accurate analysis is still difficult to make due to the rapidly changing geopolitical situation. Because of this, booking a holiday in Egypt at the last minute, and sometimes a few hours before departure, has become a major trend. This was stated by Alaa Akel, head of the management committee of the Chamber of Hotel Enterprises.
“Booking figures from tourists wanting to come to Egypt this winter are so far ‘promising’. But it is impossible to give accurate forecasts due to the political and economic changes currently taking place in the world,” said the Egyptian expert. He went on to emphasize that most of the bookings currently being received by Egyptian resorts are “last minute” bookings. Sometimes tourists get a tour just a few hours before departure.
At the same time, he assessed the overall number of tourists who visited Egypt in the first 8 months of this year as “good”. The growth in tourist traffic to Egypt during the first 8 months of this year was higher than last year, and the number of tourists visiting Egypt this summer was very good “considering the conditions in which the world economy is now.”
