Construction of a new “Red Sea” resort has begun near Hurghada. The Egyptian press reported on the foundation laying of the first hotel of the new resort north of Hurghada, which was attended by the governor of the province, Major General Amr Hanafi. The new resort will have a total of 1,200 rooms and is being created “as part of a plan to support the private sector and open new horizons for investment in the coastal province.”
As the governor of the Red Sea Province, Amr Hanafi stated at the opening: “The state does not hesitate to support investors in various sectors according to the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, to ensure an appropriate climate for attracting investment and launch and open investment projects to support the national economy.” Egypt also places hopes on the resort for the possibility of employment and the opening of “new horizons for work”.
The following details are provided for tourists. The new resort will be built on an area of 45,000 square meters and will have 1,200 hotel rooms. The resort will have to provide “tourist and entertainment services worthy of a tourist town and its guests of various nationalities.” There are no other details yet, but the new resort will be some kind of analog of the neighboring El Gouna.
