Blogger Luke Martinez has long shared his adventures around the world, or as the influencer himself puts it: “I put my life in danger and call it traveling.”
The other day, Martinez visited Milan and encountered a very popular scheme to deceive naive tourists. He shared his experience with TikTok users.
The deception took place in one of the most crowded squares in the Italian city, full of pigeons. The young man was approached by one of the locals while filming the video. The man offered him to take and print one professional bird photo for 3 euros.
“I’m being deceived now,” Martinez rejoiced, deciding to experiment.
The TikTok photographer took a photo, but instead of one photo, he printed several. He demanded to pay for all the pictures.
“I only asked for one! I only have three euros with me,” the traveler replied.
The defeated deceiver began to insist, but after a short argument, he disappointedly went to complain to his “colleagues”.
Martinez warns us to be vigilant and not to resort to the services of street photographers if we do not want to part with extra money and end up with a bunch of the same and unnecessary pictures.
The video has received more than 2 million views, and in the comments, some users compared the cheating scheme with the one that is common in Turkey – using a shoe brush:
A man or teenager walks past tourists holding a wooden box with shoe-shine accessories. Suddenly, a large brush falls out of it under the feet of vacationers.
Tourists pick up the brush, catch up with the guys and return the lost item. Confused are warmly thanked. And as a sign of gratitude, they offer to clean shoes or boots.
The touched tourists agree, and after their shoes shine, the cleaners demand money almost with threats: after all, “there was no question that the cleaning is free.”
