If the news of Richard Branson’s journey into space makes you jealous – you may be able to make your own flight, like him, thanks to the new lotteries.
The Omaze fundraising platform has announced the drawing of two seats aboard one of Virgin Galactic’s first passenger missions into space. The experience – which allows you to take a friend for a trip – will include a trip to the America spaceport in New Mexico, where Branson will take you on a VIP tour.
When the time comes, you will prepare for a flight to the edge of space aboard the VSS Unity spacecraft. There you will feel a few minutes of weightlessness and be able to see the Earth from space.
Although you don’t have to pay anything to enter the competition, you can get more entries by making a donation to Space for Humanity, an organization working to expand access to space for more people, regardless of race, economic or professional experience. A $ 10 donation will give you 100 entries in the draw, $ 50 – 1,000, and $ 100 – 2,000 entries.
“Richard (Branson) and Space for Humanity are innovators in democratizing access to outer space, making it not only affordable for individuals or astronauts, but accessible to all,” said Matt Paulson, CEO and co-founder of Omaze. “It’s about making it accessible to everyone.”
The draw will end on September 1, and the winners will be announced on September 29. The event is scheduled for early 2022.
Tickets for Virgin Galactic spaceflight cost about $ 250,000 per person. And the winners of the competition can be in a famous company on board their space travel, as celebrities such as Justin Bieber and Leonardo DiCaprio have already bought a place for a future adventure.
