A group of Russian tourists who came to Israel for Easter were searched and detained without explanation for further deportation to their homeland. This was reported by the Telegram channel Sotnikov News.
According to the channel, six residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region, who came to the country for Easter, became victims of the actions of border guards at the Israeli airport. They were detained for additional verification.
Luggage and the contents of phones were checked, many questions were asked. “After a two-hour search at customs, we were taken to a queue in another room. In a separate room, they asked about acquaintances (in Israel), money and what we finally forgot in this visa-free country,” said one of the travelers.
As it turned out, all the detained tourists had reservations at local hotels, medical insurance and return tickets. According to the results, without explanation, the Russians were informed of deportation to Russia and a probable ban on entry to the Jewish state for a period of 10 years.
Earlier in February, there was a similar incident: a Russian tourist wanted to go on vacation to popular Israel and even bought a tour with an excursion for 2.5 thousand dollars.
