Taxi service Uber has launched a new service in Turkey that allows thrill-seekers to book a hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia through the Uber Reserve mobile app.
As the company’s press service reported, the Uber Balloon service became available in Goreme National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, last week.
Uber’s 1.5-hour hot air balloon flight will reportedly cost €150 per person, including a taxi from the city of Harem to the take-off point. It is worth noting that other travel companies offering hot air balloon flights in Cappadocia charge the same amount on average.
Rides on the Uber Hot Air Balloon are expected to be limited and subject to weather conditions. Passengers wishing to book a flight are advised to do so in advance using the Uber Reserve feature in the app at least 12 hours before departure.
To celebrate the launch, 100 free flights will be available. They will be limited to four people per day until the offer expires on November 19.
Adding hot air balloon rides to the Uber app is part of the company’s Go Anywhere project. Among other things, the project has already launched such exclusive travel services as Uber Boat in Mykonos, Greece, and Uber Sleigh in Lapland.
