Heathrow Airport reports busiest October in its history

Шкільні канікули та зростання попиту на рейси до Брюсселя, Ліона, Марселя та Відня спричинили рекордний пасажиропотік у головному аеропорту Великої Британії.

London’s Heathrow Airport has reported the busiest October in its history, according to DPA. A total of 7.4 million passengers passed through its four terminals during the month — a 2.1% increase from October 2024, when 7.2 million travelers were recorded.

The airport said the record numbers were mainly driven by school holidays and strong demand for flights to popular European destinations such as Brussels, Lyon, Marseille and Vienna.

During the first ten months of 2025, Heathrow’s passenger numbers rose by 0.5% compared with the same period last year, with the airport now operating at nearly full capacity on its two runways.

Heathrow is currently preparing additional documentation for the UK government regarding its expansion plans, which include building a third 3,500-metre runway and relocating part of the M25 motorway. According to the airport, this is “the only viable option to ensure sustainable growth for the UK,” both during construction and after completion.

“The figures speak for themselves — together with our airline partners, Heathrow serves more passengers without delay than any other European hub. We have the expertise to deliver a world-class airport,” said Thomas Woldbye, Heathrow’s Chief Executive Officer.
