London tourist Jack Kypri was billed at a Greek restaurant for 4 drinks and an appetizer. During a vacation in Mykonos, the man decided to look into DK Oyster, which is often given one star out of 5 on Tripadvisor by vacationers. But Jack was not afraid of the reputation of the restaurant: he knows Greek, so he decided that he would be able to stop the attempt at deception.
When the man entered, the waiters did not offer him a menu but simply listed the dishes that were available for cooking. Jack ordered 2 shots of tequila, 2 pints of beer, and shrimp. To his horror, he saw a huge amount in the check – 425 EUR, writes The Sun.
The tourist demanded a menu, which they nevertheless brought him: the prices in it were much lower. He told the waiter that he would pay no more than 65 EUR, which did not suit the staff: “They became aggressive and began to surround me when I asked where they got such astronomical and unfair prices from. I thought that I, a man weighing 114 kg and knowing Greek, could not be intimidated.
Jack managed to leave the establishment only after he threatened to call the police. Later, he learned that locals categorically do not recommend visiting DK Oyster, and there is even a website on the Internet dedicated to cases of fraud in this institution.
