Germany changes entry rules for tourists: despite initial plans, the country has decided not to tighten the rules of entry due to the coronavirus from October 1, extending the simplified procedure for tourists to cross the border until at least January 31, 2023. The German government has announced that the country will continue to apply relaxed entry rules for all travelers. All arriving travelers will still be allowed to enter the country without a certificate of vaccination, recovery, or tests.
“Entry to Germany will remain uncomplicated until January 31, 2023: everyone entering Germany does not need to prove that they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, cured of it, or tested,” the government said in a statement.
At the same time, the government officials emphasized that the existing strict rules of registration, verification and quarantine will remain in force for travelers from areas with the virus. However, at the moment there are no “red” lists of countries, so all tourists are allowed to enter without restrictions, even if they do not have a certificate of vaccination, recovery or testing.
