The resorts of Egypt also marked an anomaly, which previously scared tourists on the Mediterranean, primarily in Turkey: it is about the departure of the sea. The “seasonal” casting this year was so recorded that, against the backdrop of news about the earthquake in Turkey, a lot of locals and tourists were scared of the alarm through the go-sea. However, experts, including bloggers, for example, say that everything is not so bad, the “records” of water care still are local, and the local authorities call not to panic. In particular, assuring the population that the risk of earthquakes in resorts is minimal.
“After all the upheavals in Turkey and Syria, many have paid attention to the extreme cast in some regions – in same Turkey, in Israel, in Cyprus, and so on. Recently, we have written about strong egresses in our charm. The point, of course, is not in aid as such – the thing is that the cast is a harbinger of the beginning of tsunamis or earthquakes. And given the latest news you understand … People respond quite nervously to such information, ”the blogger writes.
According to her, it was in the resort that information appeared that in some places in Sharm el-Sheikh the sea “went” for 5-10 meters, and many tourists confirm this. “Although the locals admit that the castings occur regularly, this is still a record holder,” the blogger notes.
However, according to “locals”, everything is not so bad: the extreme quantities of outflow were still local. On some beaches the tide is almost imperceptible, on some “within the normal range”, and in some places puts records. “The strongest tides are in Nabka. There, the sea can be noticeably shaken and become “on the ankle”. But this is a temporary phenomenon, ”the blogger states.
Further, she, in turn, reassures tourists that although recent earthquakes could form faults in the earth’s crust, where “extra” water went, it does not carry special risks. “Experts say that tsunamis with tides is not directly related, although the tides can be one of the indirect signs – but the tsunami mechanism is different. There is no reason to suspect that something similar will happen here, ”the blogger said.
She then provides official information from the Egyptian authorities. “The Cabinet of Ministers has released the statement that in the near future Egypt would not be prone to tsunami and destructive natural phenomena. They refer to the data of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), which monitors the possibility of earthquakes through the national seismic network and denies the information that Egypt is in danger. The authorities call people not to panic, ”the blogger said. She also referred to the head of the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries Amra Zakaria: in his opinion, the fall of water does not mean natural cataclysms. In his opinion, a strong outflow arose under the influence of increased atmospheric pressure in the region. “I want to believe that everything is,” – the blogger summarizes.
