According to the newspaper Tornos News, citing Cystat, the flow of foreign tourists to Cyprus from January to September 2022 has almost doubled compared to the same period last year. At the same time, it still lags behind the indicators of the pre-crisis 2019 – by 28%.
In the nine months since the beginning of the year, Cyprus received 2.54 million tourists. In September alone, the tourist flow to the island amounted to 413,400 people, 21.9% more than in the same period a year earlier.
Most often Cyprus was visited by tourists from the UK (41.1% of the total tourist flow), as well as from Israel, Poland, Germany, Greece and Sweden.
