On Friday, October 27, a rocket fell on the Egyptian city of Taba, 220 km from the border with Israel, 6 people were injured, and another projectile hit the city of Nuweiba.
This was reported by Reuters concerning two sources in the Egyptian security agencies.
No one has reportedly claimed responsibility, but Egypt’s state-run Al-Qahera News said the rocket hit was likely linked to fighting between Hamas militants and the Israeli military around Gaza.
The rocket hit near an ambulance station and a residential building. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, 6 people were injured, 4 of them have already been discharged from the hospital.
Another projectile could fly to the Egyptian city of Nuweiba, 70 km from the border with Israel.
Witnesses at both locations, who asked not to be named, confirmed the explosions and smoke. The Israeli military said it was aware of the incident outside its borders.
The cities of Taba and Nuweiba are located on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt and are popular among tourists.
