The accident that scared tourists and residents happened in the Turkish resort of Manavgat in the Sorgun district. Late at night, a beach restaurant caught fire in a five-star hotel, the name of which the local press does not mention. According to the tourists who escaped from the hotel, the fire was so strong that explosions even started, and the vacationers themselves escaped. Gas cylinders in the kitchen were detonated. Locals were afraid that the fire would spread to the relict pine forest surrounding the hotel. Fortunately, the NP was spared.

The details presented in the Turkish media are as follows: the outbreak started around 2 am in the beach restaurant of a 5* hotel. As the tourists who were trying to escape said, several explosions were heard. Residents quickly called the emergency services, fearing that the flames would spread to the nearby nature reserve, the relict pine grove of Sorgun, located very close to the hotel and dangerously close to the bar and restaurant engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, according to the Turkish mass media, the flames did not spread to the forest, the fire was extinguished in a few hours. The building of the beach restaurant was completely burned down, and all utensils and materials became unusable. However, since the restaurant was located at a distance from the main hotel building, the hotel itself was not damaged, and tourists were returned to their rooms.

An investigative team of the Manavgat district gendarmerie command arrived at the scene of the fire at the scene of crime. The causes of the fire and the “explosions” heard by tourists are being investigated. The possibility that they were caused by various flammable materials for cooking.
