In Great Britain, they began to offer openly dumping prices for holidays in Egypt, which greatly outraged Egyptian tourism experts. According to their estimates, this measure “severely harms” Egyptian tourism.
It was about British campaigns, during which tourists were offered a week’s vacation in Hurghada for a price of only 299 pounds – which is about 12.5 thousand hryvnias. According to tourism expert Mostafa al-Najjar, “it is unfortunate and dangerous that tourists are offered to spend a week in Hurghada at such a dumping price.”
“Tourists are encouraged to come to Egypt by chartered flights and are offered a plane ticket at the lowest price, which is very damaging to Egyptian tourism. The reason for these trips is a boom in the development of tourism, as a result, many began to penetrate this sector to reduce prices and dumping, which is now one of the most dangerous phenomena in Egyptian tourism,” the expert said.
According to him, a significant part of the local business does not know how to fight for the tourist in any other way, except for lowering prices, which is not achieved for free. “But competition should be not only at the expense of price reductions but also at the expense of quality and additional benefits,” the expert added.
At the same time, it should be noted that in Ukraine, even before the war, such proposals have not been observed for a long time.
