The Egyptian Meteorological Administration (EMA) warned tourists about the peak of the heat wave this weekend and early next week: residents and tourists are in real danger. The temperature in the resorts of Egypt and Cairo can exceed 40 degrees.
Tourists are advised to avoid direct sunlight, drink cold drinks, wear hats, loose and light clothing, and do not forget about sunscreen. However, heat waves affect almost all Mediterranean resorts, especially Spanish resorts, but from the Sahara, the heat goes to the Eastern Mediterranean – at risk of heat stroke are tourists on the coasts of Greece and Turkey – in the latter vacationers.
“The peak of the heat wave will reach highs of more than 40 degrees Celsius in most areas across the country and up to 45 degrees Celsius in southern Upper Egypt,” said meteorologists in the Pyramids. In Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, temperatures will reach 43 degrees Celsius – and this is the Mediterranean.
According to the weather forecast, the hottest will be in Sharm el-Sheikh – there this weekend afternoon thermometer will show at least + 42 ° C. The water in the sea warmed up to + 26 ° C. During the week, the heat will slightly weaken its grip, but will cool down very moderately – below +36 ° C the temperature will not drop.
It should be noted that too hot weather – the so-called heat wave – is not only in Egypt. Tourists on the Spanish resort islands are first warned about the heat: in Mallorca, the degree also confidently exceeds + 40 ° C. Next in line are the resorts of southern Italy, Greece, and most importantly, Turkey, where the heat is expected in the coming days.
