Deception of tourists in Turkey is gaining momentum: tourists in the Turkish resort of Bodrum complained about “outrageous prices”. The bill for several hamburgers, pizza, and water was 27,000 Turkish lira – that’s almost 46,000 hryvnias at the current exchange rate.
It is about the popular Maça Kızı restaurant, Turkish media reports: the fraudulent account shared by outraged tourists on social networks is mind-boggling.
So, for nine bottles of water with a volume of 33 ml, tourists were charged 612 lira (a little more than UAH 1,000), thus one bottle cost 68 lira or more than UAH 120. Food prices are also fantastic – a hamburger cost 395 lira (700 hryvnias), and a pizza – 425 lira (750 hryvnias). Also, more than 3,000 lira were extorted from tourists as a service fee.
However, this is not the limit. In the comments, tourists share their accounts from this establishment. There, the bills reach 55-63 thousand lire – of which at least 7 thousand enterprising restaurateurs charge for service.
